    Default Louie Revisited

After readjusting the flywheel shroud on my Evinrude,
I was pleased when it started easily and ran great!!
Can’t say the same for my trolling motor. Wide open 24 volts or nothing!! I put a new potentiometer in it, but there are two. The one in the foot is apparently bad. I think it’s Riptide time!!
I intended to go to Old River Vidalia, but the parking lot was full. So back to Louie. Started out slow, then tried a spot further from the landing. Started catching crappie. I could see lots of fish, most of which weren’t crappie. I still can’t look at a blip on the screen and say “Name: 36C85B88-E490-4D5D-B9E7-BB5B9A250F4C.jpg

Size: 75.4 KBthat’s a crappie “. Saw some carp, buffalo, or gou that were at least two feet long. Found lots of cover around places I usually fish that I didn’t know was there. Kept 7, threw back 5, and let 5 get off before I got them in the boat.
Livescope complicates fishing!! Lots more to buy, bring, and adjust. The up side is it answers many of the questions. Like how deep are they? Where are they on this sunken tree? Kinda like jumping on a train and not knowing where it is going.

Dude you did good! Get a trolling motor with spot lock anchor, I realized real quick that it’s a must with livescope!

    Oh yea!
Important thing I learned about starters. If it works, but not well, check the ground wire!! Mine has probably been loose for 10 years!! Can’t fault the mechanic, he brought the motor back from death. The starter was shot by the time I found the cause. There is a company called DB Electric that rebuilds starters. I got mine used from a boat repair place in N Carolina.

Good catch. I've been under the weather for a week now and have missed several gauge levels for old river that I usually catch crappie. Did hear that a good many where on there Saturday but didn't hear of a lot of catching. So you probably did better by going to Louie.
