Default Cranking Cypress Lake Benton, Round 4

Managed to make a trip to Cypress Lake yesterday morning and put a few in the boat pulling Bandit 300's. Caught 16 sacs and a few extra catfish. Fish were biting funny and lost a few , but all were good quality fish. Name: IMG_1196.jpg

That'll work. Nice mess of fish.
Only need three more years before I can think like a fish.

I've been on a hiatus for a year and a half with a couple of herniated discs in my lower back, but have finally bounced back enough to make it to the lake. I scratched out a limit yesterday on Cypress running the bank by the dam. I only had a handful under ten inches that I threw back. I lost twice as many good fish either at the boat or right after getting them to the surface. It didn't take long to figure out they were feeding up. Caught the majority on firetiger (bandit 300s) on 30-35 feet of line at 1.4-1.5mph. Taco Salad was the next best, but they seemed to bite everything chartreuse. Couldn't get a hit on anything else that I used to slam them on. Felt good to finally be out on the lake and even better to fill the livewell. Even after the surprise pop up downpour soaked me to the core. Hope to meet some of the newer fellow crankers out there soon. I'm in a gray Tracker Pro 170 with long trolling rods, so if you see me, troll on up and say hi. Good luck, tight lines, and we'll see you out there.
A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work, unless you fish for a living.
