Default Good Ole Old River Vidalia

Been meaning to try Old River at Vidalia since the Mississippi got below 34 feet. Today was the day. Got some shiners at UPak and launched at J&J’s. Not exactly the fanciest landing around, but serviceable. Tried a couple spots and only caught gar. Moved to some willow trees in the water, and started catching a few. Two poles with a drop shot rig and one with two jigs. Caught 9 crappie and probably twice that many gar A couple small bass and a white bass. Nice breeze, but it still got hot!!Name: A9D6255B-42B2-4279-AC45-7FB5C4EE0527.jpg

The crappie on Old River are hard to find. There one day and gone the next. Help yourself to the gar, need to thin the population. Ha

I have 2 oxbows on the Red that are within 5 mi. of my house and don't fish them because of the garfish.
