Default Afternoon on Old River Vidalia

Made a short trip to Old River in Vidalia. Work gets in the way at times, didn't get over there til 4 or after. River level on Natchez gauge 35.7 that morning but falling quick. Didn't catch but 9 but had fun. 8' to 10' water about a foot off bottom. Bobby Garland Double Silver Rainbow. Livescope helped out a lot, being cloudy, they weren't in the the thicker bushes, just hanging around the edges. Already cleaned 2 before I thought about a picture. Biggest one was 14".Name: IMG_20210802_211937657.jpg

That's some good ones. How does the live scope work in river water?

Haven't seen Old River this clear in a few years. Black clear you can see several feet down. Livescope shows you what's really in the river system. Gigantic carp by the hundreds, you can tell by the forked tails, gar even can tell spoonbills. Barfish and crappie look close to the same on livescope but crappie are more stationary to cover than barfish are. The shear number if fish that you can see is unbelievable.

Yes, it is full of all kinds of fish. Would love to see Skippa get a workout trolling 8 rods!! I stayed busy last year trolling one rod! Glad you had a good trip! I need to try it next week. It’s 5 miles from my house.

Tried Deer Park yesterday and I guess this front had them shut down only 4 keepers. They all came out of one top, in 10 fow, that I actually could see crappie on.
