Default Plastic pipe Driftmaster plus umbrella holder. Help!!

Trying to make a combo Driftmaster mount and umbrella holder. Saw Skippa Chippa’s umbrella holder and thought I could make it happen. Problem is I am using 1 1/4” pvc. The unions fit fairly well on my seat pedestal and the vertical tube for the Driftmaster. The actual pipe, the id is too small. I’m not familiar with plastic pipe so I don’t know what is available. I can connect the horizontal pieces, but the verticals, the only thing I can think of is putting a union in there, but I would lose a lot of stiffness.
Any ideas or help will be greatly appreciated!!

I figured it out! I needed 1 1/2” Schedule 40. The I’d of the pipe is slightly larger than the pedestal and the pipe for the Driftmaster. Got a piece of 1 1/2” pipe and fittings. Cheap pipe cutter is hard with 1 1/2”. Turned out good. Ran out of pipe so umbrella holder will have to wait. Name: AAA52BBD-9C97-4B64-BFC0-69218C7DB5DC.jpg

Tried it out this morning at Bayou Louie. Worked great. Needs a slightly larger foot under the Driftmaster, and a way to tighten the pvc around the Driftmaster. I’m thinking cut a slot with a hacksaw and put a hose clamp around it.

Pattern at Louie seems to have had a major change. I was able to find a new one. Hope it holds up. Caught 7 crappie and at least 15 gar and 2 catfish. It was cloudy, so not as hot.

    Why not just pin it?

Stiffness. So it doesn’t wobble side to side. Also strength, in case some old trips over it!

If I pin it, I can’t change the angle/position of the rods. When I turn, if I don’t change the rod position, I get a big strike and a broken rod tip. Don’t ask me how I know!
