I'd say that's a very successful trip. I've got my rods and line counter reels in , my rod holders ready, and I should be getting my line in today. Might try cranking for the 1st time this weekend.
We had a line of showers come through the evening before and not knowing how much rain fell to give the river a little rise I decided to try anyway. As the sun was rising I could see a good bit of haze over the oxbow knowing it would turn into humidity once the sun burned it off and it got hot early. The first fish was a nice one so Spot had to wait for the second one, as we were slipping down the bank we seen a doe come down to the water for a drink. The fish were showing up on the screen but didn’t want to get on the hook like Monday. I tried switching colors, speeding up, slowing down they just weren’t interested today. I ended up bringing home 9, that’s why they call it fishing and not katching. Here’s a few pictures from a pretty morning.
