After the Sunday misfortune and the pocket drain on Monday I needed to talk to the fishes. I put that new truck through a little bounce test this morning getting to Youngbloods landing, that road through the delta is rough. I seen were they are starting to get the drainage in shape for the road improvement so that was a good thing. Anyway I got set up and started fishing and for once they cooperated. Spot got the first one so he would calm down and one or two more through out the morning. These were some of the best fish I have caught this year and it took my mind off my worries. We got caught in a pretty good squall around 10:30 and called it a day with 17 taking the ride home with us.

I got down there about 12:30 after the rain. Went to all my spots with a jig and only caught 5 small ones. I was one of only two trucks at the public landing in the WMA and there was only 1 truck at Youngblood's in the afternoon. I guess everyone knew something I didn't.
