When leaving Sommes note, there are cement rip rap on both sides heading out to the main bayou. Leaving the launch canal there is a white PVC pipe which marks the right side, do not go further to the right than that. Go straight out of the canal towards the middle of the main bayou until you are a ways into the bayou before you turn left to go under the bridges. Do not take a short cut.
Heading towards the lake as soon as you pass the power lines there is a canal on the right called Humble on the bayou. Check it out on Google earth. that canal opens up to several canals.
Heading towards the lake again there is a cypress point on the right where the bayou meets the lake. All along those trees can be good at times and produce some fish.If the lake is too rough you can fish that shoreline back towards the launch especially near the mouth of a little canal near a camp. If you go into the lake to the right the cypress trees go for a good ways, be careful of stumps and underwater trees if you go close to the trees. A little further down that shoreline there is another canal that opens into others, again check Google earth. Other than that watch where the other boats are going and follow suit. Good luck.

Thanks PPG. Man this weather sure stinks! Hoping to make the trip still Saturday but it sure looks like it's going to be nasty! Have the sacalait normally spawned by this time of year down there?

I would think that the biggest part of the spawn has passed although I've caught them all the way through early may that haven't spawned. All this rain does suck. The temperature swing have been wild and perhaps the fish have gotten confused. It's not your typical year for sure. I haven't been to the lake this spring but I did go to Lake Bouef with some success. By the way the lake is shallow and can get real rough if storms pop up. Looks like we're in for another round of weather this morning. I sure hope this stops soon, I've had enough.

Paw Paw Gene, you are an inspiration!! I don’t go anywhere near Lac des Allemans. Your willingness to help is exemplary!
Thanks for the kudos but that what members are suppose to do. No need to worry JR the hat stretches.
