Theodore Roosevelt 26th President of the United States 1901-1909 Bronze Medal | eBayI had the good fortune today to make two fishing trips, both totally different. The first one Linda and I launched the boat and hit a canal we usually don't fish because of the muddy water. Today the water was beautiful. I started out casting a ponyhead jig with a Bob's Rollling Thunder plastic on it. That was a good combination. I hauled in 6 of the 7 bass that took a ride home with us. Linda caught one on her jig pole plus the bream. Call it an early day and were home for 2 PM. I put the fish on ice and hit my easy chair and took a nap while Linda followed suit in the bed. These trips just wear her out, even the short ones.
After my nap I cleaned the fish and got them ready for supper. Meanwhile I had to go dump the heads overboard (feed the turtles). I just happen to have to pass by my favorite park. I pulled over and took out my other fishing equipment, my land fishing stuff. It's called a metal detector by most, but those in the hobby call detecting land fishing. I didn't dig much today since I only stayed an hour, but I did find something unique. It's a bronze memorial coin or token about the size of a silver dollar. It has President Teddy Roosevelt on the front of it and some info about him on the back. I found another a while back with Dwight D. Eisenhower on it. I also dug 2 nickels and 3 copper pennies today. Yesterday I dug 2 quarters and 6 dimes. It just as much fun as water fishing as you never know what you'll catch. In the last two months I've dug over 500 coins from various places around Houma.
It was a great day no matter how you look at it.
