Did you get to fish in the burns at all when you went? I bought a permit but hadn’t been able to get out there yet. Was just wondering what to expect when I do. I haven’t seen any reports so may have to bring my redfish gear out there if everything is still salty.

You'll remember it for sure, but glad it's over and in the past.

Didn't even wet a line! I think IF I go back this year, I will run down the intercoastal and try the back.

Been stuck duck hunting myself but at least then I had waters on! At least I wore my thermals this morning so I had some half way clean jeans to put on once we got back to the launch!

I went out a few days ago and it was bleak. I agree with your assessment that you may have to run to the back to find some fishable water. The front is all still brackish and greenish. The gators were out in full force. I don’t think I have ever seen that many in the front of the marsh. And good size too. Also came across a late model F 150 in the marsh off the south end of the big pond. There is a lot of debris out there but a full sized truck a mile or so in from a road is an eye opener. I couldn’t get close enough for a license plate but if you know someone missing their truck, it’s out there.

After Rita, there were houses out there so a truck doesn't surprise me!
