    Default Lacassine Bayou?????

Has anybody heard of even one fish being caught in the bayou lately. I've made three trips since the hurricanes came and haven't caught one fish. I know a while back the water was bad and I don't know it if it could wipe them all out. I don't even see more than one boat trailer at the landing I don't see anybody on the water maybe everybody has the word it's over there and for a few months.

I'm afraid the Bayou is ruined for a while. Storm caused a fish kill

I'm just wondering how long the "while" will be. My experience has been that it doesn't take that long, but that was with catfish which are known to travel many miles.

After Rita I didn't catch fish for two years, but I only tried it once each spring . But the 3rd spring I caught some nice fish. Strangely a lot of blacks. Before the storm there were only a few blacks. Up until Laura there was still a good population of blacks. I assume they came out of the marshes during the big Rita flood. Have you tried the Mermentau? I drove over the bridge several times during teal season, it looked pretty bad

I'll probably try further down next week closer to Grand lake. always found the bayous heel up first on the southern end. It will come back sooner or later

Calcasieu hasn't been doing anything that I know of either. Yet I have a friend who has caught some in Black Bayou. Who knows?!

Well Lacassine opened today so I went down the bayou to check one of the location canal that's usually popular on opening day. Made a late morning scouting quick trip and normally stay away from there because of the crowd. I wanted to find someone with a fish. Only 3 boats there. 2 bass boats and a crappie dude like myself. The crappie dude had one fish and it was real late morning. Like me he had made 3 trips before in the upper bayou for zero. The 2 bass boats had each a small amount of bass. The consensus from us all is that it's bad, but at least someone proved that there was at least one fish there. I did catch a perch which was more than I've been doing.
