How much effect does the tide have on crappie

I have been fishing for crappie all my life. I am now 60 years old and several years ago I move and live in South Alabama. Before that I mainly fished in the Pearl River in Mississippi and in the Mississippi River system.
But I never fished where there was a lot of tide. Can any of you give me your best thoughts on which tide works best? Or does it matter just as long as the water is moving? Or does it have to be moving?
Thanks I know you guys fish the Atchafalaya Basin where tide is a factor. As I have fished there some myself years ago. Thanks again.

Now I use to fish East Pearl River down around Slidell with relatives and those fresh water fish bite better there on outgoing tide. But fresh water fishing on the Jourdan River they bit better on incoming tides. Here in the delta of Alabama it’s hard to tell. Of course they are so many variables here. You not only have the tides but also what is cut loose daily by locks and dams. Water clarity can change in a few hours. I am interested in gathering information on tricks of fishing tides for crappie mainly.

U can have to much tide movement.

Friend of mine dat lives in Kiln feeshed da Pearl around I-10 swears da bite is better on a slack tide. better there on outgoing tide. I can attest to the fact that when fishing the marsh canals tide has a lot to do with what you catch and the clarity of the water.
