No experience with the pedal and it has been a long time without one but I think it would helpful in some of the tight spots we fish in.

Cray is exactly right about finding someone with the Terrova to test the pedal. I didn’t have much experience with foot pedals, so it isn’t a bad transition to me.

I did say that one of the conditions was it had to be foot controlled but I guess what I meant was I did NOT want the kind where you have to steer it by the handle. I am pretty sure I would like the remote feature.

The terrova does have a foot pedal and the foot pedal will feel different than what you have used before. Some of the motors come with it but some you need to purchase it separately. It does have spot lock.

I think cray was talking about the difference in feel. The Terrova isn’t the cable steer and some don’t like the feel and reaction of it.

It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves, that will make them successful human beings.

Shadow, I too have the Minn Kota Terrova 55lb thrust with I pilot and foot control. The best money I've spent for my boat so far except maby the electric start o/b motor. The remote control suits me perfect for trolling crank baits, the variable speeds (10) is perfect for minor speed changes. The spot lock keeps me with in about 5-7' of my position, great. Two tips on spot lock, it doesn't work to good under a bridge for fishing pilons the cement blocks the signal for the GPS, this is were I use the foot control most. The other tip is after you are in position and spot lock is used, turn the speed down so when the tm enguages it is slow and steady instead of fast and jerky. I plan on going to lithium batterys and still kicking around the idea of a livescope. Fishing has gotten so technology advanced in the last couple of years. Give Brian a shout at BBG Marine or the guys at Bass Tank for the best price and free shipping .

I did reach out to Brian and he has given me a price. I too got an electric start installed on my little 25! Haven't taken it out yet but have ran it in the yard and it works GREAT! Thanks for the advice and tips. Now I just got to talk the wife into more fishing money!!! Just spent around $1,000 on repairs and new electric start on my 25! So may be a little bit before I get the trolling motor.
