Best lake/river in NW La. for Crappie

New to fishing and this my first post. In the Shreveport/Bossier City area, what lake/river are the best bets for Crappie? Need all the advice I can git

Best all year long is Lake O the Pines. Red, Cypress, Caddo, Black Lake all can be good Claiborne also. Downside, Lop dangerous on windy days, Tx license, unless you’re old. Red, dangerous rocks, high and muddy in spring, Cypress can be crowded w skiers, and gets a lot of pressure. Caddo a million trees that look alike. Black lake salvinia and a bit of a drive. Claiborne I don’t know, haven’t fished it in years but hear good things. I haven’t fished in a couple months so no current report. Welcome to the site! Good luck, give us a report!

Escout pretty much said it all, I've done really well on cypress, caddo, and the red river, also have been successful on lake bisteneau, PM me if you have any specific questions and I'll help as much as I can

I agree with Paris, that Escout gave you a good list, though I only fish Cypress, Caddo, and Black Bayou (Hosston). I've heard from a few people that Cross Lake has crappie in it if you know the lake, but I've not tried it. Already buying a sticker for Cypress, so I didn't want to buy another one for Cross. Cross Lake, the twin span bridges, and the parks you can catch them from the bank without a boat. Caddo is give or take highway two bridge and back in James Bayou. Cypress the area in front of the beach seams to be pretty good. Need a boat for that. Oh and don't forgot about Port of Bistineau. RIP Mr. Billy. I learn a lot of Bistineau slabs from him and others. Oh a don't forgot about Caney Lakes. Never fish them, but heard a lot good stuff happen around the dam area. That's my spill on white perch fishing from a south Louisiana boi that used to live in Bossier.
