Default Back to the Ouachita 9/19

Weather finally cooling off. Sound like a good day to take 5 and 10watt.

Let them pitch some crickets for a while trying to catch a bream. They caught a pair of small channel cats and a few small bream.

We didn't get to fish near as long as I'd have liked to. 10watt got sick on me so we made a short day of it.

All fish caught tight line silver/chartreuse and black/orange jigs 3 ft deep on stumps/snags.

Hard to tell by the pics but a cpl these fish were just shy of 2lbsName: 20200919_110458.jpg

Nice slabs 20watt, Was you on the upper Ouachita or lower end.
Been looking for some info on the mid/upper part of the river. Everybody's been tight lipped because of the ACC tournament, which is over. Any locations for getting some eaters like those would be greatly appreciated. BTW them jig colors look good!!!

I normally fish around sterlington area. The spot these pics were taken in is land lock now. I had to scoot over a beaver hut to get in and out.

River lakes south of sterlington are always a good bet. I like to hit the sloughs going north. I don't fish in the river much even at pool stage.
