Default The Tree Won The Battle....

Wednesday morning at 4:30 AM while I was reading the morning paper a tornado passed over our house....I ran to get my wife and she met me in the hall...(safe place)....it ended pretty quick but it left a lot of damage in my neighborhood...I found a 2 x 10 x 16 ft. long in the yard next door...it came from 1/2 mile away...in that same area it picked up a pickup truck and sent it about 500 ft. out on the interstate...when I looked out at my carport, all I could see was tree right behind my Toyota...I couldn't see my truck for the tree...my boat was under the carport hooked up to the truck.....here are some pics taken while they were cutting up the tree...looks like no damage to my boat or Toyota...might need a roof....all wood fences in the back are down...the tree was 44" dia...

You can barely see some of my white truck in the tree...

Standing in the street looking straight down my driveway...the truck would be on the right facing you...

As the limbs are removed, my truck slowly appears..that"s my boat on the left with a cover on it..

Notice that the weight of the tree has pushed my truck almost to the pavement....

    Finally uncovered....

Now the fun begins to replace it...

Praise the Lord for your safety.Terribly sorry to see/hear of your losses. All the material items can be replaced.Looking at your truck breaks my heart...we get kinda attached to our vehicles.

Thankfully it wasn't any worse than it was as far as massive destruction to the house, injury and/or loss of life. Sorry for your trouble and so glad to hear that you had good insurance coverage although I know it's still lots of hassle and inconvenience getting everything repaired or replaced including the "hassle factor" working your way through it all. I had high anxiety about several large trees around our place for many years, until finally, I was able to get a tree company to come in (late winter '19) and trim them all... and to also crop about 2K off the weight of my retirement savings... OUCH!!!
