    Default Humbled at the pool

Went to lacassine pool this morning with my kayak. Fished the motor side of the pool. Probably should have went in the kayak and trolling motor side. I only had one bass blow up on my topwater bait. I gave up on bass and chased bream and still could not get one to bite. The water was clearer than I expected. Tons, tons of deep grass to hide in. I will be going back, with some new ideas on how to fish this place. Attachment 376818Name: 20200530_110010.jpg

Man, you know there's some hawgs of all species buried up in that grass no doubt. Looks like heavy swim jig or frog territory to me... just sayin'.

I had a buddy that went Saturday. He ended up doing more bream fishing than bass fishing and ended the day with 24 big bream and 6 bass. Said he caught 4 of the 6 bass bream fishing. I always have a tough time at Lacassine. Next time you are down this way, holler at me and maybe we can get together and make a trip.

The people i talked to said the evenjng bite was the best, but i hat to leave around noon. I plan on going back , just not too soon. I have to get my boat going for vacation in july and it has a 50hp on it so i cant go there. After that i plan on hitting it with the kayak again. When i do go back i plan on push poling the no motor side flipping heavy cover(everywhere).

Try swim baits and weightless flukes. Always do good on the bass in there in the flats.
