I always fish the Henderson basin and surrounding bayous. It's my son's 13th bday and I think he's tired of the bream and catfish. Can't say I blame him. Is there any day trip that we can make from the area and have a decent chance of catching a mess of sac-a-lait this weekend? I have a little 16' tracker, no real displays, and only setup for single pole jig and shiners.

Hoping you guys can help steer me in the right direction. God bless!

Truth be told, that’s the million dollar question everyone else is asking....Regulations need to change to help our smaller bodies of water around Lafayette area.

Not lately. You might catch a few in whiskey bay or half moon/2'o clock but you won't load up. Some people are still catching a few in Henderson but they're few and far between. I went to 2nd lake a few weeks ago and caught 16. That's the most I've caught recently.

Actually, I was wondering if there are any trips we can take, 2 or 3 hours out around the state, and have a better chance?

I can't help with that! I like my trips short and sweet and within an hour. It does looks like Toledo and Darbonne are doing well, though. Larto/Saline is dropping and looking like a few are being caught. If you're on Facebook, get on the Louisiana Fishing Report page.
