    Default Putting together a sampler...

Looking for day trip suggestions out of my camp at Tensas, to make a three or four day Crappie Marathon sampler in north Louisiana, later this month... So far, i am considering St. Joseph, Black Bayou, Poverty Point, and D'Arbonne... Never fished any of them. except Poverty, so it's all new to me... Should I be looking at any place else?

You may want to try Larto Lake near Deville.
I also have a Carolina Skiff and love it.

This is kind of a Bucket List/Retirement Fulfillment trip, for two old best friends who haven't fished together in a very long time. He lives in Prairieville now, and we will see how many days we stay out on the water and catch up! It will be fun to get out on some new water too...

Skip any trip to the Bone this year,, Been the worse fishing there ever... If you like Big Black Crappie go to Black Bayou Lake in Monroe,, its just off Hwy 165 north of the Wildlife office -- the lake has a 50 HP motor limit ---- 20 Watt fished there a couple of weeks ago and tore them lips up fishing trees

Thanks... We are just looking to get out on the water and spend some time relaxing, not making a meat run... I just like the idea of the new scenery too...

I Think its Eagle Lake,, an Oxbow just north of Vicksburg -- A friend of mine went there about a month ago -- I think it was 32 he caught and 6 were over 3 Pounds.. His Camp is on Washington and he drove down to fish that lake at Vicksburg. He sent Photos to my E-Mail

I have all of the MS lakes to fish any time, since I moved across the state line... We are just wanting to base out of the camp, and check out some of the fishing in the area... The idea is that day trips from there will be more affordable, and we can get more bang for the buck...

I have fished Eagle lake many times while growing up in Jackson...it was common to fill up a 48 qt. ice chest with one pound bream...couldn't hardly pull them out of the water....
