Not trying to stir, but I retired from Exxon and they make a great 2 stroke oil as well as penzoil and quite a few others. But I don't know of any out board manufacturers in the oil business. What I'm saying is the important thing is the specs, not the brand. The manufactures are buying it from oil refiners and marking it up. I did use yamaha oil in my yamaha 2 strokes and my mercury 2 strokes. Only because my boat dealer bought it in drums and you could bring a jug and fill it at a very good discount. I may be lucky but I never had a boat engine problem, except the one I blew up from running it with the wrong prop and turning about 1200 rpm's to high. Auto manufactures don't typically tell you what brand oil either, just what spec. Also, while I'm at it. I made rubber at exxon. Our biggest production grade is used as an motor oil additve for viscosity indexing. I know this tired y'all out , at least it did me. haha

Yes PawPaw it was. Right down the street from the wax rack my step son works at. My oldest daughter works there in public relations. Deals with a lot of the govt. agencies. She was called in at 11:45 pm and was there until 5:45 pm the next day. It was a pipeband fire. As a former Fire squad Captain, I can say those are hard fires to deal with sometimes. Esp. if more than one line is opened up. I had one that I crawled around in for 40 minutes until we blocked it out. After that , since I got no volunteers to go up that day and ended up doing it myself, I started just picking someone and telling them to do it. lol

Feed stock makes a big difference D. But you know dat. Exxon does the dance with marketing too. I have been in the old canning building and saw the bottles with different labels many times.
