Come on. We'll call it 2 lbs. Sounds much larger. Congrats and good post.
Made a river trip today to explore some new water and field test some ax head jigs I've been working on.
The river is 14 ft over pool right now and is the highest level I've ever fished it.
Found a few willing to bite around brush 3 to 6ft deep and a couple in open water about 8 ft deep.
Only kept 10 fish but six of those were at least 1.40 with big fish weighing 1.98
Ran into Southern Chutter and talked with him a while. What's the odds that both of us would make a random scout trip to the same spot on the same day?? I had never been there and I don't think he had been there during my lifetime either.
Hope yall enjoy the pitchers. I forgot to take a group picture of my catch, maybe next time...

Sound like you got into some "HAMMERS"! I have a buddy that ONLY fishes axe head jigs, I have a few he gave me and a few that I bought from the gentleman at the Darbonne gathering, but haven't given them a fair chance yet. But after seeing the size of the fish you have there, I will! Thanks for the report and pictures!
