Debating Fishing Amelia Tomorrow
Well, Im sitting here listening to rain and thunder, and checking radar every once in a while.
Ive got d'envee to get on my first real sacalait bite, and Im debating some of the rivers East of Amelia, around Donner or so. Easy roadside launches, hard as hell to get lost, and if I get skunked (which will likely happen), I can just putt putt up to Huddle House in Thibodaux for some grubbage.
If yall had the choice to go out tomorrow, with the after effects of this wet front, would you go?

If I was going to fish in the Amelia area, I would go try to find some good water in the Cheramie/Sherman/Union canals area...might have to go way in the back...I'll be in my favorite stomping grounds...

I havn't a clue....but, the barometer is perfect and the solunar charts say tomorrow is gonna be a 3 star day (4 being the best)....low of 42 and hi around 60....partly cloudy (sacs love cloudy days)....thats enuf for me to go drown a few shiners....if you find them, you should be able to boat a few....

So, call me ignornant or uneducated, but what kinda barometer reading do you want for sacalait? Im coming from almost a purely saltwater fly fishing game, and all I know is sight fishing.

A falling barometer is supposed to be good for Sac A Lait fishing. Another good indicator is the cows in the fields, if they are laying down high barometric pressure. That's why many fishermen leave the house well before daylight so they can't see the cows and when they come back they have a good excuse for not catching any fish. Like me.
