Default Productive overniter on the Sabine River

Yesterday I decided heck with the weather forecast and loaded up the truck, camper, and boat. Headed out to the river for a few days, well maybe? Arrived at my favorite boat ramp and set up the camper as to see the river view. Settled in for the night.Name: _DSC3588.jpg

Woke up several times during the night with the wind rocking my little camper to and fro and thinking what have I done? As day broke this morning and after I had eaten my breakfast of canned Hormel Hot Tamales, I thought I may as well go for it and I did.

Made it back home and hope to maybe go back for several days early next week. Name: _DSC3592.jpg

I don't think there can ever be too many fishing stories, especially ones that include pictures. Really like the camper set up. I'm guessing you back the truck up and lift it off when you're not using it correct? That must be handy for those fishing trips a little further than you'd want to drive round trip for the day.

Oh yea, FishNut. I just disconnect the boat, unsecure the camper and use the electric jacks to lift it off the truck. It can be off the truck in about 15 minutes. Same as loading it back on. The camper is fully self contained and has everything needed to last about a week without resupply. Fridge is 12v, 120v, or propane operated. Solar panel to keep battery charge when not hooked to truck or outside power, or using the onboard generator. Just right for me and maw. Little tight when we take Dixie our 86# blue tick wonder dog along. I call her wonder dog 'cause she hasn't found out she is a dog yet and she going on 6 years old.

The ramp is called "Swede Johnson Recreational Area". It is located just south of Haslem, Tx off of FM 139. It is just south of Logansport, La. but on the Texas side of the river.

Really enjoyed the post! Mom and dad use to have a setup just like that and the 4 of us would go on camping trips, except ours was self crank not electric! Brings back memories! Keep posting, we love reports and the more pictures the better!
