Welcome to the forum. I wish I could help you with the Lake but I haven't fished it in a long time. We're getting close to that time of year where the fish will be looking to spawn. When that happens the canals off the lake can be very hot as can the cypress trees. Look for where the other boats are fishing and join in. Don't be afraid to talk to people at the boat launches, many of them will give you some hints.

Welcome to the forum...I used to fish Verrett and all the waterways south of there.....Henderson can be very intimidating......Henderson is the only place I fish....I have been trying to learn it for the last 10 years...first thing you have to learn is the boat lanes....best way to learn where the stumps are is to go when the water on the Pelba gage (it is near the public launch) is around 7-8 feet (see link below)....you can then also pinpoint where all the laydowns are...your best teacher will be a lot of trolling time on the water using a good fish/structure/depth locator....find where all the deep holes are.....since it is a relatively small body of water, no one will want to give up all their honey holes....but, observe other boats when out and watch what they are doing....sacs move around a lot, so if all of a sudden you start catching, don't think that "they turned on" but consider that a school passed by...you can sit in one spot and wait or do a lot of trolling to find some....I mainly fish with shiners on a 10 ft jig pole using a slip cork...I can not emphasize enough to watch the other boats and talk to folks when out...good luck and see you on the water...

Chop all the big lakes into small ones and learn all you can and fish each area all you can. Keep a log of your trips..TAKE PITCHERS. HAVE FUN. BE SAFE.
