Thread: Toledo Bend Spring Gathering

I'm marking down the dates. Don't know if I'll make it , but Im gonna try. Never went to a gathering before, but they look fantastic.

I tried for a couple of years to make a gathering but something always came up. Last year my wife, my fishing buddy and myself were able to make the Toledo Bend gathering and it did not disappoint! Everybody was so nice and it was really good to meet people face to face that I'd only talked to across a computer screen.
My buddy Marshall aka "sweat towel" joined crappie.com after that and he don't even know how to use a computer or his phone to do much more than talk on, but he loves fishing and talking about fishing so he fit right in.
We made it to the Darbonne gathering this fall and meet a bunch more members for the 1st time, and it definitely had a family reunion feel to the whole event. Looking forward to next fall!
I don't plan to ever miss another gathering and I can't wait till May to roll around to see everybody again. If anybody is thinking about going I say do it... you won't regret it! Good times for sure.
Does anybody have plans on doing a Saline/ Larto gathering this spring or anytime coming up, we'd like to go to that one!

Tried it for years but after only having 2, at max 3 members show up, I gave up! It use to be really big before the Darbonne gatherings took place. Please do not take this as a blast against Darbonne because I LOVE THEIR GATHERINGS! Wife went with me this year to it and had a blast! Just wish we could have a big one at Larto too.

Yeah, I saw how much fun y'all had at Darbonne and I believe Angie won some really nice stuff also! I understand about not wanting to plan a big deal for Larto but if you get a wild hair or change your mind about Larto I know me and Marshall would go for sure... just saying haha!

Never been to a "gathering" before. Have been to a lot of motorcycle rallies and gatherings for years both the wife and myself. What goes on at these gathering or should I say, What can I expect?... San Miquel ain't fer from me at all....is there some kind of itinerary? Just curious 'cause I may just check it out....

Officially, Friday, Saturday & Sunday....some folk come earlier and some stay later....spouses,kids and friends welcome.....sometimes, we go out to eat on Thursday nite at a restaurant...there will be discussion later bout that....Friday and Saturday nite we get together for a pot luck supper on the grounds somewhere...everyone brings something each nite....Saturday nite we usually fry any fish caught...during the day is your own time to spend as you wish...supper is usually around 6 PM....

Just reserved cabin 19, she said people are making reservations.....don’t delay

I just reserved cabin #3 Thursday to Sunday. Couldn’t stand the thought of missing this gathering again. I still have a schedule conflict as mentioned in an earlier post, so I might not get to fish on Saturday.
