I only ask bc from reading your other report I think you said 18-20’ deep. I just use a line minder type reel and can’t imagine stripping that much line bf swangin in that many fish.…

Nope, We also use the line minder reels. Not too bad swinging them in. My buddy fishes the front (when we are in his boat) and just swings the fish in and I usually unhook it and throw it in the chest. We are fishing in 18-20 fow but we are fishing 14-15 feet down. Poles are 10 foot so it's only an extra 4 or 5 foot to swing in.

That ain’t too bad, then. I just think 2-3 cranks of the reel would be helpful. Only asked bc I’ve been thinking of setting up one one reel like so..,, just in case.
But I’ve been fishing 3 to 8’ in any depth that allows doing ok. But I always wonder “what’s deeper”? Another day at my favorite watering hole with Richie Rich!

I have tried as shallow as 8-10 feet but haven't caught any at that depth. We don't reel the line minder reels, just strip line to pull up, keeps bait at same depth.

The feesh I caught yesterday were 10 to 14 feet deep. I lay the extra line between my legs. Like you would if fly feeshing. Some docks I shoot I'll strip out 20 foot of line or more. HTH
