    Default Rose colored glasses

This post pertains to fishing. Be patient. Have ya’ll seen the ads for the glasses that allow color blind people to see colors? Well every time I catch a fish where my friends either tell me or show me, the way those color blind people react is how I feel. Saw and spoke with Prefers Shiners yesterday. I had already pumped him for info and gps locations during the week, to which he so kindly obliged. We wished each other well and off to one of the spots he and I talked about during the week I went. Zack came with me btw. Well blow me down as popeye says, I caught 2 sacs at the 1st of Uncle Bruce gps locations. Well you all know me and I could have gone home happy at this point. One of the sacs was every bit of a hubcap and when I saw this fish, I felt like I put the rose colored glasses on and saw things I had never seen before. It’s like every fish I put in the boat brings me the same joy. Been fishing a tiny bass assassin plastic on 1/32 jig head the last few months and it works for me....I’ll get a pic of the color when I get home. 3 feet deep. So, hours later I called Uncle Bruce. Told him what I caught. He told me what he caught. I told him I’m on my wayRose colored glasses. Met up with him. He said he was catching at 3 ft. deep. Then, HE GAVE ME HIS LAYDOWN!..... Again, a rose colored glasses moment.....He says fish either side of this tree 3 ft. deep. There’s quality fish there. He moved out. I moved in. 1st drop 3 ft. deep. BAM. ! Quality fish. Well then I made a move cuz that’s what you folks taught me and fished a laydown Mo slab showed me....you know the one near a certain brush pile on the way to the levee.....another quality fish....another rose colored glasses moment. I left that spot and went back to Uncles spot and dropped my bait in a small opening in the lilies and sure enough another quality fish....the lily thing is one I’ve read about but jig rig showed me how it were done.....and you guessed it...another rose colored glasses moment......so what I’m trying to say is you folks....all of you crappie folks....NATIONWIDE....have taught me and others so willingly and kindly that each time I boat a fish I do experience gratitude for each and every one of you. The names I mentioned were due to acts of kindness that we don’t see in the world any more.....so THANKS FOR THE EYE OPENING EXPERIENCES.

Nice Tal! But what really peaks my interest is that big ole blue gill in that chest! I don't care how old I get, I will ALWAYS LOVE catching those big blue gills! Thanks for the story and pictures.

If you can remember the spot where those lily pads are next Spring.

The crappie will spawn in the roots of those Lilly pads.

It's one of their favorite places.

First class post Vet. I've been trying to get up there to fish with "Uncle Bruce" but it just hasn't worked out yet but I'm not giving up. Linda is just about finished her physical therapy on her broke arm after a year and three surgeries. That will give me some free time. I've been yard man and house man for way too long. It time I get a break, and not one like Linda got (her arm). Bruce is a wise old fisherman and he has studied Henderson for some time and he has got good info for some of the best. I wish it wasn't a 2 1/2 hour drive for me to get there. I'd do it more often.
