Very nice looking jigs
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
Ok, I get the jest of what the ties look like. Micropterus salmoides thanks for the kip/calf tail suggestions. My nephew told me they killed about 12 squirrels last week and I can get a few tails this weekend. I'm going to try to tie a few with the and get back to you all. Thanks again for the responses and pictures.
I like to fish hair jigs when the water is clear and cold.
Had good luck in the past with black with a mallard green head or grey with the same green head. Black crappie especially seem to really go for it.

My nephew provided me with a few tails from his hunting trip. The wet and very cold weather has given me an opportunity to tie my first hair jigs. Heck, really my first ties since trying to tie some cap spiders for brim fishing a few years ago. My phone camera isn't the best but here are 3 in 1/16th and 3 smaller 1/48th. I'm going to try the 1/16ths the first break in the weather. The micro 1/48th tipped with a small piece of worm bouncing off the bottom should work well for those chinquapin I hunt in March.
