    Default Henderson....Friday...9/20....Down But Not Out....

Yesterday trip (Friday)....fish left the spot I was catching on Thursday...so, I moved down to the pontoon bridge...found a tree top and got 4 off that plus a nice catfish....left and went about 50 yards and my motor beeper went off...I didn't want to take a chance and burn up my motor so I had to troll the 5 miles back to the public launch hoping to pick up a tow along the way....talked to some guy with his (wife, girlfriend?) in the Butte Larose Canal and when he found out I had put in at the public launch he didn't seem interested in helping.....I didn't ask, but sure was looking for a volunteer....took me close to 2 hours but glad my batteries held out.....

I googled the problem and did a visual today to look for anything obvious....didn't see anything...looks like a visit to the shop Monday....

I can not complain....fished 4 out of the last 6 days (that's a lot of Waffle House breakfasts)....I am Blessed....

    Looking forward to D'Arbonne....

Hey PS, Is your tattletale peeing? Is the water warm? When your last water pump replacement? Most folks recommend every other year.

Hope all works out for you. On the bright side you know how far you can troll.

Sounds like it might bethe sending unit for the oil reservoir. I believe that is a pretty common problem. I mix my oil and gas in 2 of my 3 boats so don't have too much problem with that. Hope you get it fixed soon.

Thanks Dwyane...on my last boat (Merc. 150) I disconnected the oil tank after the Warranty ran out and mixed the oil with the gas like you do.....something I may have to address on this boat.....I'll talk to my mechanic about that tomorrow and see what he thinks....

UPDATE....mechanic said problem is the small oil reservoir on the side of the motor....not my main tank in the boat....he knew right off what it was...shouldn't be a big deal....I expressed my concern about running while it was beeping....he said it will be OK....said the motor has built in devises that will shut the motor down before any damage is done...so, I learned something that is good to know....picking it up at 1:30 today....the real question is, when am I going fishing again....tomorrow???....we will see.....in the meantime, it is a good time to go give the truck a full service wash while I am not hooked up....it stays hooked up to boat about 99% of the time.....
