Background...bout 3 weeks ago my Inner Voice said you need new trailer tires....I looked them over carefully and said naw, they good for another 2 years at least......I mean, they only 20 months old (with lots of miles though)...so I figured I won that battle...
So, This morning.. up at 4 AM....out the driveway at 4:30...cross the Miss. River and head south down Hwy 1 to get shiners...(Nope, Waffle House to come later)...as I got on the Intercoastal bridge about 4:50 , I hit a pothole....then, something bout the trailer did not feel right....foot of the bridge pulled over to inspect suspecting a flat...nope...got my light and then I smelled burning rubber...the fender was rubbing the tire...looked underneath and saw my leaf spring had a complete break into like it was cut with a knife...called AAA and they said a wrecker would be there at 6:46....at 6:41 AAA called back and said the wrecker canceled because they do not haul boats....so they sending another wrecker which showed up at 8 AM (BLessing #1).....got to my trailer guy shop and told him to replace both springs...one tire was really eat up....shop said we are really backed up don't know when we will get you fixed...I went home to get my boat cover to cover my boat and when I got back they already had me in the shop (Blessing #2)....
Headed to my tire place to check on tires and while there the trailer shop called...my boat is ready...that was about 1 PM....I decided to get 2 new tires and use the best one on the ground as my spare....head back, pick up boat and now back to tire store....left there around 3 PM....home now with a cold one (Pepsi)....
My Inner Voice said, when I say get new tires, get new tires....I said yes Sir.....I will pay better attention....
Doctor check up Friday....look out Monday....I'm coming....
Sorry, no pictures....just didn't think bout it...
Blessing #3....kept me safe all day in all the turmoil....
Could’ve been a whole lot worse......glad ur fixed up and ready

A safe day is a good day. A little trouble sometimes can be a blessing.

Water's getting low at the landing. Much better than something happening to your trailer while dropping.
Looking forward to seeing you in the basin again soon. God bless, friend.

Glad it all worked out! There are a load of bad things that could have happened.
It's a constant battle with a boat to keep everything working!
Catch'em next time!!

It's a good thing you got everything fixed I had a blowout coming back from crankfest in Miss. It isn't any fun changing a tire on side the interstate with trucks passing at 70 mph.

I feel your pain. I had the outside bearing on my trailer separate and lost my hub and wheel on the interstate. When I finally got stopped, I was this much from losing the axle . Glad everything turned out good for you.

I read all this stuff about boats and trailers breaking down and I'm so thankful that I don't ever have anything like that. I was launching my boat this morning at the public launch in Henderson and saw that one of my running boards that the boat sits on was broken in 2. Fortunately, I was able to make it back home with no problem. And as for the fishing...zilch. didn't get a bite. I tried to buy some shiners at the Exxon in Henderson, but they were out. so I fished Opelousas Bay and the railroad pilings and went into the big lake on the South side of the interstate. Nothing. Packed up at 9:30 and came home.
