Sorry no picture of fish....I gave them all to my stepson, Barry...he had some for breakfast today...so I didn't have to clean them....must have caught at least 30 fish...kept 21 including one small bass....shiners 3-4 ft deep...slip cork....left them biting at 10:30...., just got too hot....going back Monday (tomorrow)...water is falling like I have never seen....at least 9 ft...

    Default Nice Haul!

The water level is nuts. I’ve been hitting the basin, Henderson side, Bayou Loin, I-10 mounds up to power lines, but only pulling a few here and there. I heard they are moving to Bigeaux, but that just means more area to me.

I’m new to Sacalait, though, and catching on that technique is likely the issue. I’m working on the rigging, modifying depth, speed and approach, but I can’t tell if I’m doing it wrong, or if I’m just trying the wrong spots. At this level, what do you look for? Do you work general areas, or very specific spots and water patterns?

I don't get too scientific with my fishing...I usually have a plan in the beginning of the day but never follow thru with it...at this water level I will fish near deep water...look for laydowns and look where other boats are going....I have been fishing there for 9 years so I do have a few spots I like....I like to fish the shade...I like clean, moving water...my problem is staying too long in a spot where I am not catching....
