    Default Ouachita River 8-12-19

Had a Monday off, so I decided to hit the river. Water falling and lots of current. Thought they might bite and a few of them did. At least enough for supper. When I figured I had enough for supper, I quit fishing and took Diane riding. She met me at the Forsyyhe launch and we rode from Monroe to Sterlington and back just for the fun of it. The Ouachita sure is pretty.

Back to the fishing! Early I caught a bunch of 6-8 inch bass. Never caught so many of them before. The crappie didn't start biting for me until around 11:30. Then I caught 7 in a place 10 feet wide X 20 feet long. I had 3 over 1.5 lbs. After picking up Diane I rode by a tree top that I just couldn't resist and caught the one bream.

The crappie were in 10-12 FOW holding 5-6 feet deep. All but one was caught on a blue thunder with a chartreuse tail on a chartreuse head.Name: IMG_20190812_161623371.jpg
