I fish 7 days a week; some days for fish, everyday for men.

My many dear friends, there is no way the simple words "Thank You" can convey all the heartfelt feelings we all have for Juicy and Brother Warren for taking the reins of our great weekend. Y'all did a great job of putting it all together especially for taking the responsibility of securing the group camp for our gathering. Having that place made it wonderful for everyone to be able to sit to eat and converse in comfort. You that couldn't make it missed a great outing, the fishing wasn't the best with a front passing through the night before, but that didn't stop you brave hearted souls from giving it a good try.

Also we need to thank all who brought the delicious food for us to partake of, it was some of the best. It was all good but to me the fatties were the top of the list for a meat dish and it was a toss up for desserts between the nanna pudding and the white chocolate bread pudding. Oh my God, I could have eaten all of both of them.

It goes without saying but I'll say it anyway, none of this would have been possible without the participation of all you good folks that showed up. As Ms Bonnie said, "this is a family reunion" and she is correct. We're not blood related but rather by strength of purpose and I don't believe it's just the fishing but rather to gather with some of the nicest, friendly, God fearing people one earth.

The many sponsors also need to be thanked for their generosity in providing us with some great door prizes. I won't even attempt to name them all because there were too many for but each of you who won a prize please post thanks where it is due. I will mention these thou, BnM, Duck Commander, Mid South tackle and Salter Poles for their generosity but all who give down to the last prize have our greatest appreciation.

A big shout out to "Slab" for having the foresight to see what good people can do when they all pull together. Most of all thanks to our heavenly Father for watching over us and keeping us safe and giving us the capacity to love one another all for the glory of his kingdom.

    "gene"

ps: just a small note of thanks to "Doc" for setting the foundation for this gathering many years ago. We miss you.

I have been waiting for the Pictures that made me think about the other gatherings ... When " Doc" took over his wifes oven Baking those Hot Pink heads bebore the Gathering I had to go see how he fished those Hot Jewels .. 4 Jig heads about 12 inches apart and 5 on his longest Poles for Spider Rigged Channel Catching.. I didn't ever think to look to see how he tied the jigs on . Loop Knots make a more natural action in the Water and I had never heard of a Loop Knot. I live 10 Miles from the Lake and 15 from the State Park ... The Guys from CDC Took me under their Wings when I joined to make me more than part of CDC, but the CDC Family.
When I Brought the Contour Map pages Thursday night, it was less than half of the lake, but If you know Crappie The Staging areas for the spring are not a mystery .. The Maps of the lake have half the Boat Launches closed... I was there when the Traveling Chapter of Team Overalls decided to become from the Louisiana Gathering,, and Possably become Nation Wide like Team Geezer

I got one of the first Scoups from Last years Deserts --- I looked at Miss Bonnie and said " you got to Taste this one" --- When she looked at me , that became Gone in TEN SECONDS FLAT --- we tried to find out who brought it for the RECIPE.. Miss Bonnie and I still want the recipe on the Scoupe with the Chocolate hiding inside the Desert

Mr. Gene and Mr. Bruce y'all both said it best, that was a great time and we really enjoyed all 4 days we were there! Thank y'all so much Bro. Warren, Juicy and Mr. Bud for all the time and dedication y'all put in, everything was outstanding!

It was great visiting with some good friends we've already made and Mr. Bruce it was really special finally meeting you and Mrs. Didi!

PPG and Mrs. Linda it is always good to see y'all, I'm so glad Linda is doing better!

Just Steve, Steel Guy & Yankee Doodler it was great meeting yall and the rest of the fellers that made the long trip down. JS and SG we were on the lake fishing when y'all got there and the rain started as soon as yall put the boat in but we watched from under the bridge as y'all stuck it out. Hats off to y'all sticking it out!!

I was lucky enough to have my name drawn early enough to win some beautiful jigs that 20watt hand tied, I can't wait to try em out! It was really good meeting you 20 and your boys also.

I had a lot of laughs talking with Cajun Dave, I look forward to fishing with you on Black Lake. (Green Shiner keep reminding us that some of Dave's tales are a little tall! Lol)

There was a lot more folks that I talked to that I didn't realize who they were and what there handle was until I heard yalls names called at the drawings. I enjoyed meeting all y'all and next time I'll have a face to go with some names. I'll get some big "my name is _____" stickers ordered for next year's event.

I regret that I didn't get a chance to meet and talk to Josh "Andrews" I didn't realize until after you let that PPG and Mrs. Linda told me you were there.

We had a great time fishing even though it was a little tough. Juicy and Bro. Warren we really appreciate yall taking us to some fishing spots we never would have found on our own and thank y'all for the great pre-fishing breakfast biscuits! We took some along with us and ate em on the lake. Maxwell 328, Juicy, Mr. Bud, Shadow, Skippa Chippa, Just Steve, Steel Guy, Yankee Doodler and the gang and everybody else out there we sure enjoyed hanging out on the water and fishing by y'all. We even saw John Godwin from Duck Commander fishing next to us down from the spillway.

I think we would have done better fishing if Danny "D" and his buddy wouldn't have kept cutting us off! (haha just joking bud!) It was awesome meeting you Danny, you made us laugh every time we talked to yall!

I can't wait till next year! We plan on being at the Toledo Bend gathering and I hope to see a bunch of y'all there. Until then good fishing to all and God bless!!!
