    Default I Hate Sylvania

After a 45 min run from Larto Landing for the start of the tournament I arrived at the spot I planned to fish in Lake Saline and the sylvania is every where so were the weekend warriors. This is not good when you are pulling 8 crank baits. I stuck it out for about 2 hrs constantly clearing this stuff off my lines and only had 2 keepers to show for my trouble. Plan B run back 45 min to Larto were there was not as much floating debris, I only needed 5 more fish to fill my limit and had 3 hrs left. Well I pulled and switched baits and picked up one here and there, not looking good for the home team. Then in the last hour I ran into a few fish to make the weigh in, I ended up in fourth place with my big fish was 1.46 lbs. I did run into 4 other Crappie Dot Com members on the lake lvoories, Stickem, Escout and Mississippiboy. We had enough for a gathering.

I pull 10 and push 4 when the floating stuff gets bad the pushers do better than the pullers so I started putting a big swivel about 4 ft up the line on the pullers it catches the junk sliding down the line
You will notice the bait running shallower with grass on the swivel pop the rod a couple times and it will clear and return back to depth

I don't think I ever got a crappie bite. I was trying to fish with minnows, but my Engle flew the coop, and the cheapie replacement didn't do much of a job of keeping the shiners alive. Finally found a few bream near where Stickem was fishing. There was some current there also, but by then all the shiners were dead. I saw an 8 foot gator. Got hot and tired and slept in this morning.
Did Stickem or anyone else place in the tournament? Good to see you Skippa, and good to meet you Stickem.

I launched at Bud's, and they are so nice!! They backed my truck down for me and pulled me out on the return!!

And not being critical, but it seems noone can spell this awful stuff Giant Salvinia

That's more than we actually have show up for the gatherings! Way to stick with it and congratulations!
