    Default Crankin Saline 6/12

I couldn't stand it any longer I've had the shakes long enough. I started at daylight to make the 9 mi. run from Woodsons landing to the other side of Saline, got 2 poles out and look to the other side of the boat and the first pole is bent bad oh yea it's on now. A nice fish to start the day, I started picking up a few but the bigger fish were around the cuts coming out the woods. It was suprising how close you can get to the bank when the water is still 8 ft higher than normal. After the sun got up good it started to get hot, umbrella time. I continued to weed through the floating sylvania and ended with 14 keepers and about the same amount of throw backs a couple cat fish and a goo. I had to try out my new Pico crankbaits 3 on one side and 3 of my hand painted C33s on the other. It was a tie, the best colors today were anything with pink or orange, the crome ran a tight second. Even the water was hot 83* summer is here. I've been trying to get pictures all day on my phone but it's getting old, tap the screen or press the button and it turns the phone off. I'll try with the digital camera before I clean them.

That's awesome! I know you've been itching to get out there and that sounds like a better than expected catch! Way to go

is there visible current coming through Big Creek, out of L'il Saline, around Hickory Cutoff, Windy Point areas? You were probably running your big motor through Big Creek and across the lake so you might not could have noticed any current but I am just curious. Also, I assume you were fishing somewhere across from Lake Point but did you notice any current there? Did you make it to Horse Island?

There isn't any visible current but there must be some the bait and fish symbols were more visible on the point side of the openings. I did try the horse island area the water was a little dirtier and more floating sylvania, kind of a pain when you are pulling 6 baits.

Thanks for the info. I am planning on going Saturday to look around and try to find some; was also going to bring some bass fishing equipment which is why I was asking specifically about current. Thanks again.

I suggest you get there early for a Wednesday the parking lot was full half way back to the road. It looked like an on water boat show with screaming prop noise and big tall rooster tails. I did talk to 2 of them at the launch and both had limits of bass.
