    Default Local technique names

Hi guys I've been reading many of your old posts. There are mentions of "tightlining" and "swimming a jig". Could you guys help me out with the way you are using these. From what I've read on other posts these could mean different things. Thank you!

Tightlining is pretty much vertical presentation "tight line". Swimming a jig is casting it out, letting it fall to a certain depth, and retrieving "swimming" it back to boat through the water column.

Tightlining for Bream is casting out a short way, usually with a cane pole with the lightest weight or no weight and letting it settle to the bottom while watching the line... it is just to get the bait far enough to not spook the fish in shallow water..

tight lining can be done with single poling or spider rigging....then theres long lining in which you can pull various baits behind the boat.....and pushing involves spider rigging at various speeds with various baits....and....side pulling and drifting...and you can name your own technique......most of all, be creative.ENJOY!

This morning I spent 2 hours dipping around cypress trees and lay downs without getting a bite. I moved to another location and was dipping lay downs with the same results. The front that went through gave them lock jaw. I got hungry so I put my pole in a holder as I went get something to eat out the bag. The boat was just drifting slowly in the breeze. I looked up and saw my pole bent but not jumping so I figured I hung the bottom. I grabbed the pole to free it and there was a slab on the end of it. Wow, what a surprise. One fish isn't a pattern but I gave it a try, no such luck. My question is what do you call that technique.
