    Default Crankin Cypress

Managed to catch a few crankin this afternoon on Cypress Lake . Bought two Shakespeare reels with line counters and they made a big difference when dragging baits, guess I'm going to buy a few more. Name: 20190526_201257.jpg

Love the quality of fish you catch while crankin!! Congrats on a good day out. Those line counters are key to knowing where your cranks are in the water column

Managed another crankin trip this morning on Cypress Lake and the quality was better today and managed to catch 10 crappie and 2 catfish.
I'm still learning the game and not quit as good as my brother yet.

I went Saturday afternoon for the first time since October. Caught a small mess of good sized crappie. Also caught one bass and two big goo. One was the biggest Goo I've ever seen. She was stripping line off as fast as I could reel it back. Black splatterback was the winner of the day. Others caught on orange belly bone. The water is pretty muddy and the wake board and pontoon boat traffic was as expected for this weekend. It didn't make it easy. Caught most of mine between the launch in the park and the beach. Picked up several big fish.
A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work, unless you fish for a living.
