    Default Lake Reports

I few years ago, I use to crappie fish regularly, but then I blew a cylinder on the Yamaha on my Cajun. I have been sidelined getting the motor rebuilt. I finally got my motor rebuilt on my Cajun this year and it sounds wonderful. I want to get back into crappie fishing after a far too long absence. Where are they biting? Before my boat issues, I use to fish central and North Louisiana lakes and bayous like Caddo (Texas and Louisiana), Cypress, Bistineau, 12-mile Bayou, Red River by Bishop Point, Toledo Bend (Circle Drive), Bayou Dorcheat, and Claiborne Lake.

If anyone has any information they would like to share on these or other lakes, I will be grateful. I have been reading posts on this site regularly. Hopefully as I get back into the game, I will be able to post and share pictures too.

i wish they would open up the public launches on the Red River again, I am itching to get back on the river it has been closed way to long due to high water.
Fishing should be great if we could get on it.

Stoner and Teague launches have been closed for months due to the high water level on the Red River. I wish they would open soon. I would love to fish all those brushpiles on 12-mile bayou.

There were some reports on here from Grand Bayou and Cypress, Claiborne, and Black Bayou near Coushatta, and also Black Lake. I've been to Lake O the Pines and done well, but I haven't been in the last 3 weeks. The should be doing well there somewhere between 12 feet of water and the bank. I was catching them on shiners in 10-12 feet of water near the bottom 3 weeks ago. Red looked better today when I drove across it. Bishop Point is sometimes open when the other launches aren't. Maybe ask the sheriff dept. I fished a pond just off the Red Saturday for a little bit, but just caught white bass, black bass and catfish.

    Good luck!
