Default High Vis lines or Flurocarbon clear?

Question as I am a bass fishermen turning into a crappie guy, I was wondering does line visual matter as much with crappie as it does with bass? I see many many fishing lines geared for crappie that are HIGH VIS and was wondering what should be the go to? I know the high vis stuff is for the fishermen to see the line better but does this not seem to bother the crappie as bad as it does bass?

It really depends on the water clarity and how hard the fishing pressure is.
It also depends on your style of fishing.

So basically yes it does matter similar to bass fishing... I would have thought so and will probably choose to always go with an invisible line just to give myself that extra advantage

You will prob get several different opinions on this and some people will swear that you need no bigger than 6 pound Flourocarbon to catch fish. However, I like fishing 15lb invisibraid. Especially this time of year when I’m hitting the heavy brush. It’s strong enough so when I get hung, I can usually pull on it hard enough to bend the hook and come off without popping my line. I also like the high visibility of it so I can see the bite when it’s light. I catch plenty of fish with it and works well for me. I’m a single pole jig fisherman so it works good with my technique. I will say if you are fishing the hot summer months, a lighter low vis line can make a difference. But through my experience, high vis most of the time for me.

Also welcome to the forum. I’m originally from Marksville, but live in Breaux Bridge now. Still have my camp up there by you at Saline/Larto.

Does it bother bass? Not everybody thinks so:

Well I have first hand experience with seeing this affect bass's interested and also the type of line also depicts water depth that baits will be presented to the fish as well.

Everybody’s first hand experience differs, which is why some swear line color matters and others swear it doesn’t. The archives are full of “does line color matter” threads. Use whatever works for you.
