    Default Poverty Point Lake map???

I'm wondering if anyone can help me find a lake map with contour lines for Poverty Point? I know it is most shallow... Would like to see everything without having to run all over it...

OK, if no map, I can probably settle for a general description of everything north of the second cut to the right, coming up from the dam... Just some idea of how deep the water is up in the marina area, and around the north end would be very helpful...

I'm no expert but have been on it a few times and the north end is mostly 10' deep. There is a windrow that runs north/south and is marked with posts and is real shallow. We found some stumps out from the west shore in deep water that were barely visible so use caution.

There's not a lot of contour to the lake's bottom. It's less than 10' deep except the two old Bayou Macon channels on the southeast side, an old slough bed that starts out from the south boat launch and runs sort of up the western side and an old swamp bottom out from the north marina.

When you say deep, what do you mean? More than ten?

Most of the lake is less than 10. The old Bayou Macon channels are over 20' deep, the slough is 10-20, and I think the old swamp is 10 or so.

Thanks, getting an idea of how it's laid out... Now, where to start?

I went Sunday afternoon and caught 6 good ones fishing about 18" deep along the bank. I was on the southeast side.

I am looking at going next weekend, supposedly a veterans tournament, have never seen the lake before. Should be a fun trip on a new lake. I’ll be in a red ranger 520vx, if any of you guys see me on the water introduce yourself to me. Always nice meeting folks from the board!
