It looks like they are moving up staging for the spawn
Went to Cypress Sat pm. Cold and windy. I haven't crappie fished it before, and I didn't pick a great day to start. Not a bite! Didn't see much n the H'bird. No-one I talked to did much either. Decided to try Black Lake Sunday. Sunday morning it is raining at Black Lake, so changed plan to LOP. Put in at Johnson's Creek and rode around checking spots on the bird. Found shad and loons but no fish. Rode up the lake and checked a point and marked shad and fish. Caught a two pound bass on crappie rod, but no crappie. Went up that creek and eventually found fish near a bridge. Caught a couple 11-12" females. Trying out new Driftmaster 250. Still determining where to mount it, but I think it will be fun when I get the details worked out. Hope to see y'all at Larto. Fish were in creek at 10' deep.

You probably didn't miss much on Black Lake. We fished it hard fri & sat and we only kept 10 total and we didn't talk to anyone else that were catching much either. Couldn't locate any fish in the 8-25' fow we have been finding them in, we only caught the ones we did casting up to very shallow water 1-2' fow. Seen the dogwoods blooming and heard from some yo-yo guys they are catching big fat females in the 3-4 foot flats.
Thanks
