Armyman I used a hair drier to warm them and a razor scrapper to get them started then just pulled them off. Any glue left I rubbed it off with a rag and acetone.

Thanks Bruce. Of course it will have some CDC decals.

Jesse I use Starbright Marine Polish from Academy or Walmart. It prevents scum from sticking to the hull or staining it. It last for several months.

Thanks for the info Gene. I got decals that are sun backed and peeling. Want to take 'em all off and put C.Com in their place!

I've got that same boat just a different color. I love the front deck. Pledge will shine it but dries off quickly. Liquid Gold in the bottle if you can find it, (not the spray can) is awesome. Used car dealer taught me that trick. But beware. Step over into the boat on to the carpet. Don't even trust your hand to support yourself when reaching down to boat a fish. lol. Trust me, you will bust it open.

Weather was nice yesterday and today so it was time to act. Sixty dollars of supplies and some elbow grease got it done. I started by stripping all the decals from the hull including the big “swoosh” and the Stratus star and name. I power buffed it first with Mequires compound and follow that with Turtle was scratch and swirl remover. I will follow that with some marine polish but first I need to put some decals but not sure where to get something nice and big. Of course I will have some Crappie.com and Louisiana decals on it.

I still have the top side to buff and will do that on the next stretch of good weather.

    The old “swoosh” being peeled.

    Attachment 326967

The original color red that was under the vinyl and the faded red below it. I never though it was that faded.

    Attachment 326969

The finished product minus the decals.

Don't wait that long, the time is now. I just need to find the time and have the weather co-operate.
