Default Was that a BITE ???

I got on the Bone late -- about 10 AM ..about 18 inches of Water has been released -- Falling water,, no wind -- the sonar had fish 16 foot to the Bottom .. there was only two trucks at Jakes.. Putting the first line out to 16, I had the line in my hand and while pulling off 2 more feet -- something hit my jig and I missed it... About 2:30 Sonar showed 6 Fish Just above the Shad at 15 Foot and I dropped a marker on them.... I reset my poles with fresh Nibblets on the Jigs and went back to the marker.... I had another fish bump the Jig and missed the hook. The few People that I did see were not catching either.. The High Barometer probably had a lot to do with it. I will wait till the Pressure is lower and take some Minnows.. The water temp was 51 Degrees

I almost did not Post this thread, I wanted folks to Know the water level is headed towards Pool level and if they get the Hankering to go to the Bone there is plenty of Parking and fish with full Bellies down there

Larry, when I was down a couple of weeks ago shiners out caught jigs/plastics probably 10-1. 16' down first thing in the morning and deeper as the day went on.Some of my bigger fish hit when I made a turn and sped the jig up a bit. Not sure if it was the difference in speed or difference in depth but I'm guessing it was the speed.

Thanks Sparty 0le Boy --- I am going to set up the Aquarium tomorrow for my shiners .. I have caught 15 gal of rain water to put in the tank ... I got a surprise when I saw that one of my reels had only 18 feet of line on the spool... I am going to try something different on that pole -- One Jig with a long tag end where a Gold single hook about 16 inches below the Jig where the Shiner can play Injured Minnow for the Crappie while I hold the Pole --- It works under a Cork. The Jig is to look at till they see the Shiner.

Give that jig a shot of slab sauce, too. That should get their attention. Next time I come down we should get together and catch a few.

I have the Tank all cleaned and the Rain water about 7 inches --- sweet talked the wife into calling a Take out dinner from Chilleys ,,, that way I got to buy a Pound of Shiners on the way home... The Shiners have more room - that should make them happy ... Now, as usual --Fish food container is empty .. The reel respooled with 6 Lb. line and I have to remember it is crappie instead of a Catfish that wont fit in the Cooler
