Sorry for y'all
No rain, little wind, a little cool first thing but it warmed up nicely, I couldn’t have asked for better conditions. But..................

My son was returning from a trip to New Mexico and was about two hours from home when his engine shut down. When he went around checking the truck he found the fuel tank hanging about three inches from the ground. The tank sits in the metal guard that’s sitting on the ground and that is bolted to the frame. The guard broke at the attachment points and when it fell it broke a fitting and cut the fuel off to the motor. I just couldn’t leave him to fight it alone. It was more than a chore for the two of us.
I used what little time I had left to replace my fuel line on the boat. The bulb was rock hard and I was afraid if I had to pump it, it would crack. The boat is eleven years old and the fuel line has been disconnected twice. The first time was when I got water in the tank and the second when I got it overhauled. Other than that I’ve never had to use the primer bulb. If all goes well this one should last at least ten more years. Hopefully I can fish that long.

glad you got everything taken care of despite a less than ideal situation.

It could have been much, much worse Mr. Gene. If the tank would have drug a little lower and just one little spark, it could have got real bad, real fast! God was watching out for him, glad you were able to go help him also
That was an unselfish act. Not sure I would have felt the same way but I’m sure I would have done the same.

PawPaw Gene thanked you for this post
Wow !!! That reminded of when I had a similar problem.. I had an old Station Wagon that the Bolt for the Strap broke ... The Tank was inside the fender behind the wheel -- it didnt stop the fuel but The Tank was 3/4 full... I thought I would never get it back in place... The fuel gauge never worked again.
Sorry for the bad luck Gene....You R the best person for a "fix it" problem.....hope your boat will be OK now....as far as fishing on Thursday, far as I am concerned, you did not miss much....rising water, high barometer, 33 deg, broke trolling motor rope...and only one 11" sac to show for it from 7:30 till 2....I always enjoy myself though....
The "King" is coming
This could be the Day....

PS as we real fishermen know it’s not about numbers or the size but it helps with the addiction.
