    Default Union Oil area

If you fish this area don’t pass up the intracoastal waterway cause you may be missing some nice slabs. Bite was good early until the south wind started blowing and tilted the lake causing the water to rise. Soon as that happened the bite quit like turning off a light. I had my share by then and just enjoyed the chilly day.

You've got some quality fish in that box Jesse. What are you calling the Intracoastal? Is that the canal from the boat launch up towards Persimmon pass from which you turn into the union canals. I've only been there a couple of times and thought that it looked fishy but never stopped.

PawPaw that’s exactly where I’m talking about. Just don’t turn into the Union Oil area. The waters usually cloudy in the intracoastal, at least on the surface but I believe the fish can “feel” the bait if you will, plus their sight is excellent so use a contrasting bait, dark grey or black. They were right above the bottom in deeper holes around structure. More than 10’ down! They are always there just don’t always bite what I’m using.

That’s a Grey Ghost. Thanks for the info. Now that I have a better sonar unit I will give it a try.
