    Default Bayou Corne

I t's been a good while since I have seen any postings on Bayou Corne. Can someone give up an update on fishing conditions and if Dennis Landry still has his cabin operation going?

Dennis is still there....actually, he was one of those who stayed when the sinkhole appeared....the cabins are still renting....he has a website....I have fished there in the past but have not in a long time....

Thanks for the update. I certainly enjoy at stay there a few years ago and have great memories of the area. Have always wanted to go back, but kept holding back due to the spreading sinkhole. Maybe someone will post a fishing report from the area now and then.

From what I understand the sink hole has stop sinking, well it has caved in and the void is filled. The salt dome had been hollowed out to store petroleum products in and one wall was too close to the edge of the salt dome an collapsed. It shouldn't be any problem anymore. Now for the fishing, I don't know, I've only fished there a couple of times before the sink hole started. Maybe this spring I'll give it a try as it's a nice place to fish and I've caught some nice fish there.

I was there two weeks ago and yes some were catching some were not. Once the water drops this week give it a try, you should be able to scramble up a mess.

It's encouraging to know folks are fishing the area again and the hole is apparently stable. Such a beautiful area with so many places to fish plus Lake Verret
