We’ll have to keep an eye on the river stages like mentioned above. There’s a big rise coming in the next couple weeks. As long as the river is dropping on 10/20 it’ll be worth fishing. Name: IMG_0027.jpg

Could make the fishing better if the water is higher though. They might move into the button woods. I went last weekend and it was even lower than it was when we met up at the landing. Put the boys on some small bream and caught a few bass.

I’ll be able to start gathering logs for my raft this fall if it comes up high enough too. Planning to build it next year.

    Hey Go Fish,

Where did you get that #?

The MS river backs into Old River around 16.5 at the Baton Rouge MS river gauge. Which is predicted to rise for 4 to 5 days for a few feet. Then go on a slow fall which is great for catching IMO.

The 28 day forecast shows it creating at 28.7 ft in BR then falling but that’s usually not very accurate because it is forecasted on the expected rainfall over the next 48 hours. We still have over a month before we fish. It could rise then drop back down below the damn level in that amount of time. As long as it is below 30 ft in BR and dropping I’ll be there. A slow fall would be best but a fast fall won’t stop me.

River weather site said 41.7 at Natchez gauge and 20 something on BR gauge by Sept 23rd. Hope it does fall after that and I finally get to meet some of y'all. Fingers crossed

Looks like there’s another small rise coming over the next week then a slow fall as long as we don’t have too much rain up north. Supposed to be down to about 24 ft at the BR scale on the 20th. Perfect level for fishing in the woods. Name: IMG_0178.jpg
