    Default Old River Vidalia

Fished one of the other Old Rivers. A ton of tiny bass and yellow bass kept it active and depleted the shiners. Sacs hard to come by. Caught two "strolling" a monkey milk Roadrunner tipped with shiner. Last time I was on Old River was 50 years ago. I caught more fish this time. Looking for current I went through the cut into the Mississippi River. Lots of tiny white bass and gar there. Got pretty hot when the breeze quit so I did too. Came back and took a nap.Name: IMG_1353.jpg

Oh yeah, if you want to entertain a kid, troll a flicker shad or Arkie crank bait, in shad color. Seems everything in the water wants to eat them. You will steal them though, so bring extras!

Yep the old rivers around Vidalia have been tough lately. Most I've caught in one trip is 14. I've no every stage that should have produced and can't find them in any numbers. I single pole fish with jigs. I my have to learn how to troll.
