    Default Trolling Jigs?

Anybody got a formula for how much line you would need out for a given jig weight and trolling speed to maintain a certain depth. I have a feeling it might work sometimes in the bayous when they are not on structure.

I use a 1 oz weight to keep it down....jigs or shiners or crankbaits....I know some guys use up to 3 oz weights....I know I did not answer your question, just wanted to throw that at you if you have not heard of that....

I would recommend using 1/16 jig head with slider or triple tail body. make normal cast put in rod holders then use trolling speed to adjust depth
I usually run about 25 to 30 percent of speed range
Get ready to have some fun
    Good luck

Thanks for the info everyone. I have found a lot of stuff on the subject and am waiting on some more fishing stuff and then will try to put it all together. Strangely enough when I was a boy my neighbor's dad would take us on Douglas lake in Tennessee and we would only troll. I remember catching one in particular and the lure I was using. It was left behind by my dad who died real young and I think my son has it. I'm going to give him a call and see.
