Yesterday we made a late afternoon run. We waited until the heat was dropping to make it easier on Linda. 3 sacs, 2 bass, and 3 cats were put in the live well, plenty enough for us. Most were caught on shiners but my largest sac of a triple tail cajun cricket with chartreuse tail. The last hour of daylight was just spectacular, to bad we don't have about 4 hours like that. We met Bobfish out on the water and as usual he had caught more than we did but that is fine we me. I'm more than thankful for those we catch and those we release.

Sounds like dinner to me, Gene... I can never make the change from live to jigs unless I start with jigs. Mental thing I guess.
Sounds like a good time to me, Mr. Gene. Say hello to Mrs. Linda for me.
The Lord is good. His mercy and love endures forever.
Will do Pastor.
T-Blue, I'm kinda the same way. I was never much of a shiner fisherman, but this year I went out my way to provide nice lively shiners for Linda and decided to help myself also. It's fun watching the float go down. Shiner season is almost over for us. As soon as it starts getting hot the people I buy from quit selling and I'll have to switch back over to jigs which is my preferred method. I've been jig fishing ever since Mr. Twister came out with it's sassy shad way back when. Over the years I've tried just about all of them and now have settled on BG's spike tail.

No Randy, I've been using it since January. I buy a couple of hundred at the time and put them in the tank. We take around 3 dozen on each trip. When the supply get low I go get another batch. I have it set in the shade with 2 bubblers and a filter. It's been working great. It wont be long before the supplier quits selling them now that the spawn is past. There is another seller but his price is double. He keeps his shiners in a tank in a cooler and has them all summer. I'm content with using jigs the rest of the year.
